What Is Titanium?
Titanium is a metallic element with the chemical symbol Ti and atomic number 22.
Compared with many common metals, titanium has a relatively low density while offering excellent strength for its weight. This combination allows titanium products to remain lightweight without sacrificing durability.
Titanium is also highly resistant to corrosion. When exposed to oxygen, it naturally forms a thin and stable oxide layer on its surface. This protective layer helps prevent further corrosion and contributes to titanium's long service life.
Because of its unique combination of properties, titanium is used in many demanding applications, including aerospace, medical equipment, industrial components and outdoor products.
For camping and travel gear, titanium is particularly valued because it can combine low weight, high strength, corrosion resistance and excellent durability in a single material.
